Resentment

I'm glad it's going to work out, and that my kids are going to see their grandparents and my parents are going to see their grandkids, even if not in the way we thought and not for the actual holidays.

I'm even perfectly fine with taking the trip without the kids - assuming I do get to take the trip, which is the assumption I'm working on right now.

But you know what? Even though I do understand where it comes from, I'm a little upset at being preemptively accused of international parental kidnapping, you know?

I don't think it matters where it comes from--you don't use your kids as weapon to hurt someone else, without caring how it hurts the kids and other people unrelated to the situation for which you're attempting to hurt that someone else. Collateral damage is not okay.

Someone is being a prick and needs to be put in firmly back in his place, if possible.

Well, it's not really like that. He's just trying to protect his kids. And I'm just hurt because he thinks he needs to.

Bullshit. He knows good and damn well you aren't going to do that. You've made a home and gotten a job *there* and the man was married to you for how many years?

If *I* know that you wouldn't hurt your kids by taking their father away from them, he damn sure does.

He waited for the papers to be signed so he got what he wanted/could out of it and then commenced to punishing you for hurting his pride. That he doesn't give a shit that he's hurting your parents, your siblings and his own children leads to me believe that in this particular case, your tendencies to always believe the best of people and to always give the benefit of the doubt and to bend yourself into a pretzel to keep from hurting another human being are being used against you.

hate to do it but I agree with C on this.
You can see the love you have for our future overlords in the pics I've seen and anyone who uses that as a weapon against you is just not doing good things.
I can only imagine what frame of mind I might have been in if Gina had taken the girls and moved far away from me.

I'm not saying Alex is doing the right thing; in fact I don't know what he's doing. I'm just trying to understand him.

Good luck, Gurrrl, and don't settle for less freedom than you need.

You hate to agree with me, Pido? I mean, is that just on this one or is it all the time?

C'mon...inquiring minds want to know.

You may not, btw, use the "I am not retarded" answer for this question.
