All My Bags Are Packed I'm Ready To Go

Sheri called about an hour ago. Michele is now on a respirator.
I booked my flight to Houston about 30 minutes later.

Tomorrow at 9:25 PM I touch down in Houston and it may be a whole new reality facing me.
I don't know.
It's almost midnight and I can't sleep. I packed my suitcase. Logged into work and sent the appropriate emails informing people who need to know of my upcoming absence from work.
I don't want to end this post because when I do I know the next moment happens. And the moment after that.
I'm really scared.
I don't want to think of a world without my sister in it.
But until that reality sets in I will do my best to be as positive and strong as I can.
All you can do, right?

And her prayers *work*, too.

Just sayin'.

Do not react as you "think" you are supposed to. Be who you are and respond to the situation as you need to.

We are all different. There is no right or wrong.

I will pray for you, Michele and your family.

Wish I could do or be more.

Hugs and tears!

Dear darling Pido -- I just read this, after (finally) posting at my own blog about the "D" word -- Death -- that scary fucker.

I'm wrapping my arms and wings around you. It's OK that you don't know what's next. That's real life. That's being alive. You are alive. When you wrote this, so was Michele.

I'm with I'mTheMomma -- don't react as you think you're "supposed" to -- the greatest gift you can give yourself, your sister, and everyone in your family is to be YOU -- as you are right now.

And you are a sweet, real, present being, willing to feel and think and respond -- I've seen that in you, and it will bring comfort to all around you if you bring your real self.

I'll keep you in my prayers, with your permission.
